Marketplace Terms
1. Who we are
Make It Count Digital (“we”, “us”) runs the creator marketplace on this website. It connects brands with creators. We review brands, campaigns and creator profiles. We are not an employer of creators, nor a party to the contract between a brand and a creator, unless we run a campaign for a brand as its agency.
2. Accounts
Creators and brands each have their own accounts. Give true details and keep your password private. Creators under 18 need a parent or guardian’s consent before their profile goes public. They cannot apply to campaigns for adults only.
Creating an account and applying to campaigns is free for creators. We never charge creators to apply.
3. Verification
We check brands before they can publish campaigns: company registration, website or social pages and a call or email with the contact person. We give creators the Verified badge only after checking that their social accounts are theirs and their numbers are right.
Registering does not make anyone verified. Verification is a check we did at a point in time, not a guarantee. Use your own judgement too. Report anything that looks wrong.
4. Campaigns
Every campaign is reviewed by our team before it goes live. So is every change to a live campaign. A campaign must say what creators will be paid or receive, when and how; the deliverables and deadlines; how the brand may use the content and for how long; any exclusivity; and its own terms, including what happens if it is cancelled. Paid, product exchange, prize-based and unpaid campaigns are labelled as such.
We may edit, pause, suspend or close a campaign that breaks these terms or that we believe could harm creators.
5. Applying, offers and selection
Creators apply with their profile, once per campaign. Brands may shortlist, ask questions, make offers and select creators. A collaboration starts when a creator accepts an offer. It also starts when a brand records a selection agreed with the creator. It runs on the terms of the offer and the campaign. Keep conversations about a campaign on the platform, so there is a record if something goes wrong.
6. Payment
For now, brands pay creators directly, as the campaign’s payment terms say. We do not hold payments. Creators are responsible for their own taxes.
7. Our fees
Commission. When a brand books a creator through the marketplace, we charge a commission on the creator’s fee. The rate is shown on the campaign and in the brand’s estimate before booking. So is who pays it: the brand, the creator or both. A booking counts as made through the marketplace if the brand first found or contacted the creator here and books them within 12 months, even if the booking is later made directly.
Campaign management and production. If a brand asks us to manage a campaign or produce content, we agree the fee in a written quote first. Our estimate shows creator fees, production costs, our fees and VAT separately. It also says whether our fees are included in the brand’s budget or charged on top.
Featured campaigns. Brands may pay to feature a campaign at the top of the list for a set time.
8. Content rights
Creators keep ownership of their content unless the campaign says otherwise. The brand may use it only as the campaign or the accepted offer says (for example, organic posts for six months). It must credit the creator where the platform allows.
9. Cancellations
If a brand cancels after selecting a creator, it pays what the campaign’s terms say is owed for cancellation. That is never less than the work already delivered. If a creator cannot deliver, they must tell the brand as early as possible through the platform. We review every cancelled collaboration.
10. Disputes
Raise a problem on the collaboration or through the Report link. We will hear both sides and try to settle it within ten working days. We may record strikes against brands that fail to honour commitments. Accounts that repeatedly do are suspended.
11. Not allowed
- Asking creators to pay to apply, to be selected or for “registration”.
- Fake profiles, bought followers or false audience numbers.
- Moving a booking off the platform to avoid our fee.
- Harassment, discrimination or pressure of any kind.
- Campaigns for illegal products.
- Campaigns for age-restricted products aimed at under-18s.
12. Your data
We handle personal data as our privacy policy explains, in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019. Phone numbers, email addresses, identity documents and payment details are never shown publicly. Brands see what a creator chooses to show on their profile, plus what they send in an application.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will tell account holders by email before a change to fees takes effect.
